Championed by legendary designer boutique Browns, College of Art graduate Alice Archer is quickly making her mark in the fashion world.
The British designer was discovered at the Best of Britannia exhibition in 2013 by Simon Burstein, son of style icon and founder of Browns Joan Burstein, who was deeply impressed by the craftsmanship and originality of her designs. Drawing inspiration from oil paintings of women in the National Gallery and flowers in the Chelsea Physic Garden, Archer uses a unique technique that combines print and embroidery to create occasion wear embellished with lavish floral motifs. Archer's talent gave Burstein impetus to launch the recently opened concept store The Place in an effort to nurture her career and provide a space that could serve both as her studio and a small retail space. With such artistic vision, and with Browns' seal of approval, there is no doubt that Alice Archer's career can only blossom from here.
